Home / RISE / Employee Assistance Program: a module inside the wallet
Someone to talk to. Nobody watching who called.
The reason most EAPs go unused is not that people don’t need them. It is that nobody believes the word “confidential” on a poster in the office pantry. So we made confidentiality contractual, wrote it down twice, and built the whole module around it.
Ethika Worklife Private Limited · This is not an insurance product.
Confidentiality is the product.
Everything else on this page is a service. This is the product: when one of your people calls a counsellor, joins a support group, or takes a self-assessment, the employer never learns who. Not in a report, not in a renewal review, not if someone asks nicely.
HR sees usage in aggregate, how many sessions the team drew this quarter, and nothing more. A number can’t identify anyone, and below a minimum team size we don’t show the number at all, because in a team of four, “three sessions” is a name.
We are not being polite about this. We are being contractual.
In writing, twice
- In your contract with us. The employer’s agreement states that individual usage of assistance services is never disclosed to the employer. It is a clause, not a courtesy.
- In your employee’s app. The same promise, in plain language, on the screen where they book, so the person deciding whether to call can read exactly what their employer can and cannot see, before they dial.
Six services, one number to call.
Confidential counselling
Talk to a qualified counsellor about whatever is actually going on: work, family, grief, the thing you haven't told anyone. By phone, video or in person.
Peer support groups
Professionally moderated groups of people carrying the same thing. Full list below.
Self-assessment tools
Private, clinically-grounded self-checks inside the app. Results stay with the employee, not with us, not with HR.
Family & parenting support
The assistance extends to the family, not just the employee ID, because the 2 am worry is usually about someone else.
Finance & tax guidance
A qualified human for the money question that has been sitting in the back of the mind since April. Guidance, not selling. Nobody on these calls has a product to push.
Legal guidance
A qualified professional for the legal question you have been carrying alone: guidance to help you understand your options, not a sales pitch.
Callback within 8 hours
Request a counselling session and a counsellor calls back within 8 hours, any time. Not a ticket number. A person, with a time that works around your day, or around a baby’s schedule.
Support groups, moderated and anonymous.
Small, professionally moderated, and joined anonymously from the app. The relief in these rooms is rarely advice. It is hearing someone two desks or two cities away say “me too.”
How they run
- Joined anonymously from the app: no name, no team, no title
- Led by a professional moderator, never a colleague
- Small rooms, so everyone gets space to speak
- Nothing said in the group is reported to any employer
- New groups open as members ask for them
What people bring
- Money, tax and everyday finance worries
- Parenting, caregiving and family strain
- Grief, loss and life transitions
- Stress, burnout and the pressure of work
Tell us what your team needs and a group moves up the list.
What your people get. What HR sees.
The employee
- Books a counsellor from the app; a callback comes within 8 hours, any time
- Joins a support group anonymously: no name, no team, no title
- Takes a self-assessment whose result only they can see
- Gets the same help for family, from the same wallet
- Reads the confidentiality promise on the booking screen, before dialling
HR
- Sees aggregate usage (sessions drawn, groups active), never identities
- Below the minimum team size, sees no assistance numbers at all
- Gets the confidentiality clause in the contract, to show any employee who asks
- Can point a struggling team member to one number, instead of improvising
- Answers “is anyone even using the EAP” at renewal with a real number
What this module is not, and when to go elsewhere first.
Counselling connects your people to qualified, independent professionals; it does not diagnose, prescribe, or replace ongoing treatment someone is already receiving. Where a counsellor believes clinical care is needed, they will say so and help the person find it.
There is no policy, no insurer, no claim. Every limit (sessions, services, family scope) is contractual and stated before you sign. Insurance, where referenced anywhere on this site, is provided only by the licensed broker named in the footer.
If someone is in immediate danger
Do not wait for a callback. Call your local emergency number, or Tele-MANAS, the Government of India’s 24×7 mental health helpline, at 14416. The app shows this notice on every assistance screen, before any booking. Help in a crisis should never be one more form away.
The questions people actually hesitate to ask.
Can my manager or HR find out I used this?
No. Individual usage is never disclosed to the employer. It is a clause in the contract, and the same promise is printed on the booking screen in the app. HR sees only aggregate numbers, and below a minimum team size, not even those.
How many counselling sessions do I get?
A fixed number per year, stated up front, because “unlimited” asterisks are exactly what this product refuses to have. Your exact session allowance and what happens after it is set out in your company's plan.
Who are the counsellors?
Qualified, independent mental health professionals, not Ethika Worklife staff, and not anyone your company employs.
Can my spouse or children use the counselling?
The assistance extends to the employee's spouse and children from the same wallet, so the help reaches the people your team most wants to look after.
Are the support groups really anonymous?
You join from the app without your name, team or title. The moderator is a professional; the members are people carrying the same thing. What is said in the group is not reported to anyone's employer.
What happens to the data?
It runs the benefit and nothing else: never sold, never used to profile or advertise, never shown to the employer at an individual level. Consents are specific, unticked by default, and revocable.
The benefit nobody brags about using.
Nobody posts about calling a counsellor. But in every company there is someone this quarter who needed to, and whether they actually dial comes down to one question: does anyone find out? Here, the answer is no, in writing, twice. It is one module inside RISE, and it may be the one that matters most.
